Over the weekend we had the privilege once again to be asked to photograph for the Oklahoma Red Cross at their Oklahoma City gala Rendezvous For Red Cross at the Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Honorees for the Ruby award this year was the City of Oklahoma City & accepting the award on behalf of the city was three mayors past & present. Ron Norrick, Kirk Humphreys, & Mick Corrnett were on hand to be presented the award by The Red Cross & Sam Prestie of the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was an amazing night with lots of great food, info on programs, & money raising for a good cause. Check out some highlights from the event via the slideshow below or click here to be taken to the full gallery. The American Red Cross has a special place in our heart. When our home burnt to the ground the Red Cross was there for us, even when we tried to turn them away because we didn't need their help! The volunteer from the Red Cross talked me into coming down to the office & sure enough it wasn't until I sat in that office after the smoke had cleared that we both realized we did need help. Samantha & I were still in shock but as it wore off we realized all we had were the cloths on our backs. The kids were devastated & the Red Cross was there with some stuffed toys & a smile to help us get through the first few hours. We will never forget what the organization & volunteers did for our family.
